Sri Vijaya Puram, April 28: Applications have been invited for admission to one-year Conventional Training Programmes under the Directorate of Industries for the academic year 2026-27. The Departmental Training Centres of Industries Department i.e. at Sri Vijaya Puram will provide training in Tailoring & Garment Making, Cane & Bamboo Handicrafts, Carpentry, and General Engineering. The Diglipur Centre will offer courses in Tailoring & Garment Making, General Engineering, and Carpentry.
At Little Andaman (Hut Bay), training will be available in General Engineering and Carpentry, while Car Nicobar will conduct training in Tailoring & Garment Making, Carpentry, Coir & Coir Products and General Engineering.
The eligibility for undergoing the training is Class X Pass, age between 15-45 years (as on 1st July, 2026), Local Certificate holder of A&N Islands, and physically fit (Govt. Doctor certified).
A monthly stipend of Rs. 1000/- (with 80% attendance) shall be provided to the eligible trainees on completion. The issue of forms will begin on 11th May, 2026 at Training Cell, Directorate of Industries and Extension Offices of the Department at Diglipur, Hutbay, & Car Nicobar.
