Hutbay, Feb. 26: A Block level training programme on ‘Preparation of viable financial model for generation of Own Source Revenue (OSR) in the Gram Panchayats’ was conducted today at the Panchayat Samiti Hall in Little Andaman. The programme was organized for Pradhans and Panchayat Secretaries with the objective of strengthening financial planning and enhancing revenue generation capacity at the Gram Panchayat level.
In his address, Shri Belthazer, Block Development Officer, CD Block, Little Andaman emphasized the importance of financial self-reliance of Gram Panchayats and highlighted the need for systematic planning to improve Own Source Revenue.
A technical session on the concept of Own Source Revenue, including tax and non-tax components, was conducted by Smti Supriya Mondal, BPM, RGSA. The session on ‘Using Behavioral Science Principles for OSR Generation’ was jointly taken by Shri Ritesh Kumar Gharami, Panchayat Secretary, and Smti Supriya Mondal.
