Ferrargunj, Feb 8: The Directorate of Rural Development, PRIs & ULBs organised a Block Level Training Programme at Ferrargunj under the leadership of Smt. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer.
The programme witnessed active participation from Panchayat members, officials, and staff members aimed at strengthening grassroots governance and improving rural development initiatives. The training focused on enhancing administrative efficiency, implementation of development schemes, and improving public service delivery at the Panchayat level.
The programme was graced as Guest of honour Shri.P Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, GP Kanyapuram.
On this occasion, Shri P. Abdul Basheer was specially honoured and appreciated for his exemplary leadership in maintaining cleanliness and an efficient drainage system, which has made Gram Panchayat Kanyapuram one of the best Panchayats in South Andaman District. His efforts towards sanitation, waste management, and systematic drainage maintenance were widely acknowledged and applauded.
Addressing the participants, Shri Basheer emphasised that consistent and systematic efforts for the welfare of the people are the foundation of true development. He also shared his vision of transforming his Panchayat into a model green Panchayat.
The programme concluded with a commitment to further strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions and ensure sustainable rural development across the district.
