Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 1: A Blood Donation Camp was held on Nov. 28 in the Conference Hall of the Chief Pay & Accounts Office, as a prelude to the upcoming A&N Civil Accounts Day to be celebrated on 7th December.
The camp was organized by the Chief Pay & Accounts Office in collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar State Control Society (ANACS). It witnessed enthusiastic participation from Accounts Cadre staff, their family members, and well-wishers. Many volunteers came forward to donate blood, reflecting a strong sense of social responsibility and community service. About, 30 units of blood were collected during the camp. At the outset, Shri S. Dasgupta, Director Accounts & Budget, appreciated the collective effort in organizing such a meaningful programme. He informed that, as part of the community outreach activities and the social responsibility of the organization, blood donation camps are organized every year in connection with the Civil Accounts Day celebrations.
The event was graced by Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services and Dr. P. Lall, Deputy Director (Health) who lauded the initiative and emphasized the crucial role of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and ensuring adequate availability of blood in the blood bank.
