Chinmaya Yuva Kendra Organises Trek to Saddle Peak to Create Awareness on De-Addiction

Sri Vijaya Puram, April 17: Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK), the youth wing of Chinmaya Mission, successfully organised a trek to Saddle Peak, the highest point in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, on April 12, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a group of young boys who, under the guidance of the CHYK team, successfully reached the summit.

Marking the achievement, participants proudly hoisted the Indian National Flag along with the CHYK flag at the peak, symbolising strength, unity, and determination.

The primary objective of this initiative was to create awareness about de-addiction and to encourage youth to become physically, mentally, and spiritually active. In today’s time, when many youngsters are increasingly getting influenced by harmful addictions such as drugs and alcohol, CHYK has taken a strong and meaningful step to guide them towards a healthier and more purposeful lifestyle.

Swami Shuddhananda Saraswati Ji, Resident Acharya and President of Chinmaya Mission, also joined the CHYK members and successfully completed the summit along with the group, inspiring the youth through his presence and participation.

This initiative stands as a powerful step by CHYK towards building a disciplined, aware, and value-driven youth community.
