Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 4: The 29th Death Anniversary of Comrade N. Vasudevan, former President of CITU State Committee and Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association and former Counsellor in the erstwhile Pradesh Council was observed today (4th Sept 2026). A meeting held at Crusade House, Phoenix Bay, Port Blair, paid rich homage to the memory of Com. N. Vasudevan.
R. Surendran Pillai, President, CITU State Committee presided over the function. Addressing the gathering, D. Ayyappan, Vice President, CITU State Committee recalled the contribution of Com N. Vasudevan for the working-class movement in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Anand Rajan, Secretary, CITU State Committee was also present on the occasion.
Com N. Vasudevan was the first non-Congress Chairman of the Port Blair Municipal Board and held the post for a few days in April/May, 1990 before becoming the Counsellor (Health, Forest & Env) in the newly elected Pradesh Council.
