ClothShare Program Organized by Humane Touch at Kanchi Nallah, Brookshabad Benefits Local Families

Sri Vijaya Puram, May 18: Humane Touch, in its continued effort to reach out to the underprivileged, organized a ClothShare program at Kanchi Nallah, Brookshabad on May 18, 2025. The event was held at the Community Hall near Ram Mandir at 10:00 AM and witnessed active participation from the beneficiaries.

The program was graced by Shri Rajesh Ram, Councillor of Ward No. 22 and Junior Vice-Chairperson of the Port Blair Municipal Council. Addressing the gathering, Shri Rajesh Ram expressed appreciation for the initiative and encouraged residents of his ward to come forward and avail themselves of the benefits of the program. He lauded the spirit of service behind the event and assured support for such welfare activities in the future.

Shri Shafique, Working President of Humane Touch, also addressed the gathering. He spoke about the ClothShare initiative and highlighted the organization’s extensive work across the Andaman Islands. He emphasized that Humane Touch, through partnerships and community support, has so far reached 30 villages including Shore Point, Mathura, Lamba Pahar, Chouldhari, Nayashahar, Hope Town, Junglighat, and Mayabunder among others, positively impacting the lives of over 15,000 people.

The event at Kanchi Nallah saw families from nearby areas receiving good-quality used clothing, collected through generous donations. The initiative ensured that no one in need returned empty-handed, bringing smiles and a sense of dignity to many.

HumaneTouch has called upon the residents of Port Blair and surrounding areas to contribute to this ongoing program by donating used but usable clothes. Donations can be dropped at locations including Libra Cottage, Bageecha, and Daya Sagar Hall in Prothrapur.
