
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 28: A meeting with the representatives of recognized political parties was held under the chairmanship of Shri Arjun Sharma, IAS, District Election Officer (SA) today in the Mini Conference Hall of Secretaries to brief them on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll.
The District Election Officer (SA) explained the process, procedures, and purpose of the SIR and also shared the detailed schedule of the revision.
1. Preparation/Training/Printing: 28.10.2025 (Tuesday) to 03.11.2025 (Monday)
2. Enumeration Period: 04.11.2025 (Tuesday) to 04.12.2025 (Thursday)
3. Rationalization/Re-arrangement Polling Stations of By 04.12.2025 (Thursday)
4. Updation of Control Table and Preparation of draft roll: 05.12.2025 (Friday) to 08.12.2025 (Monday)
5. Publication of draft electoral roll: 09.12.2025 (Tuesday)
6. Period for filing claims & objections: 09.12.2025 (Tuesday) to 08.01.2026 (Thursday)
7. Notice Phase (Issuance, hearing & verification); decision on Enumeration Forms and disposal of claims and objections to be done concurrently by the EROS: 09.12.2025 (Tuesday) to 31.01.2026 (Saturday)
8. Checking of health parameters of electoral rolls and obtaining Commission’s permission for final publication: By 03.02.2026 (Tuesday)
9. Final Publication of Electoral Roll: On 07.02.2026 (Saturday)
During the SIR process, the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will:
– Collect Form 6 and Declaration Form for inclusion of new electors and assist in matching/linking.
– Help electors fill in the Enumeration Form (EF), collect it, and submit it to the ERO/AERO.
– Make at least three visits to the house of each elector.
– Facilitate online submission of the Enumeration Form (EF), particularly for urban voters and temporary migrants.
– Identify dead voters, permanently shifted voters, and those registered at more than one place.
– Note: Except for the EF, no other document needs to be collected during the Enumeration Phase.
Electors are required to fill the Enumeration Form (EF) and hand it over to the BLO. Alternatively, electors can submit the form online through the Election Commission portal at https://voters.eci.gov.in.
The guiding principle of the SIR is to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible person is included in the Electoral Roll.
The meeting was attended by representatives of recognized political parties. The District Election Officer (SA) sought the cooperation of all political parties to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Special Intensive Revision process.
The cooperation of the general public is also solicited for the successful completion of the SIR.
