Diglipur, Dec. 4: The Inclusive Education Wing of Samagra Shiksha, Diglipur, yesterday organised an exposure visit to Ramnagar Beach to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The programme was conducted in partnership with INS Kohassa and the Indian Coast Guard, marking a memorable day for the Diglipur Educational Zone.
One of the key moments of the event was the distribution of wheelchairs to five Children with Special Needs, as recommended during the Samagra Shiksha assessment camp. In addition, the Forest Department installed an innovative eco-friendly temporary ramp, enabling wheelchair-bound children to reach the seawater with ease, an initiative introduced for the first time.
A variety of recreational and sensory activities such as coral finding, sand play and tug-of-war kept the children engaged, and prizes were distributed to the winners. Parents and teachers expressed immense gratitude for the inclusive planning.
