Sri Vijaya Puram, April 29: The Directorate of Industries, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in association with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME), Government of India, organized a one day In Service Training Programme for officials of the A&N Administration today in the Conference Hall, Directorate of Industries, Sri Vijaya Puram under the guidance of Shri Atul Soni, Director of Industries and Smti Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary (Industries), A&N Administration.
The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing the capacity of officials from the Industries Department and other line departments on key MSME initiatives, with a special focus on the World Bank-supported Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme, along with various MSME schemes, digital platforms, and facilitation mechanisms for MSME development.
The technical sessions began with an address by Shri Narendra Jena, Deputy Director, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, who briefed participants on the role of the Ministry and provided insights into its flagship schemes and initiatives for MSME promotion.
Members from the National PMU (RAMP), including Dr. Milan Sharma and Mr. Vijay Sharma, Programme Manager for A&N Islands, delivered presentations on various RAMP sub schemes and MSME initiatives. The sessions covered Greening Initiatives such as MSE-GIFT and MSE-SPICE, TEAM Initiative, Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), Udyami Bharat Portal, MSME Champions Scheme, National SC/ST Hub, Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), and the MSE-Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP).
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Ajit Anand, Deputy Director (HQ), who expressed gratitude to the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, for conducting such an insightful and valuable training session for the officials. He also urged the officials of the A&N Administration to effectively utilize the knowledge gained for enhancing the competitiveness and growth of MSMEs in the Islands.
