Directorate of IP&T Warns all Adventure Watersports Operators following Reports of Fraudulent and Unethical Practices  

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 16: The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), A&N Administration, has issued an advisory to all Adventure Watersports Operators (Scuba Diving, Sea Walk, Parasailing, Kayaking, and Snorkelling Guides) following reports of fraudulent and unethical practices. Activities such as scuba diving, sea walk, parasailing, kayaking, and snorkelling, which form the backbone of Island tourism, have recently faced complaints of misrepresentation of services, irresponsible conduct, and violations of the prescribed A&N Islands Watersports Guidelines – 2015 and associated terms & conditions.

The Directorate emphasized that such malpractices tarnish the reputation of the Islands as a safe and reliable tourist destination and also jeopardize the livelihood of genuine service providers.

All Adventure Watersports Operators at Swaraj Dweep, Shaheed Dweep, and Sri Vijaya Puram have been directed to strictly comply with the prescribed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain professional conduct while dealing with tourists at all times and refrain from fraudulent or misleading or unethical activities that may compromise tourist safety and confidence.

Any violation, misconduct, or fraudulent activity reported against an operator will be dealt with strictly, and appropriate action, including suspension or cancellation of registration, will be initiated by the Directorate of IP&T.
