Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 23: As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign, being observed from 17th September to 2nd October 2026, a series of cleanliness drives, awareness programmes and community-participation activities were organised yesterday by from Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs across Campbell Bay, Car Nicobar, Ferrargunj, Mayabunder, Prothrapur and Rangat Blocks. The activities witnessed the active participation of 340 participants, including students, SafaiMitras, officials and community members.
In Prothrapur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Ferrargunj, Car Nicobar and Campbell Bay Blocks, various activities were organised under the campaign pillar “Swachh Pathshala for Yuva”, carrying forward the message of “Swachhata Se Samriddhi’.
Meanwhile, on day 7 of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign, being observed from 17th September to 2nd October, 2026 by from Directorate of RD, PRIs & ULBs, witnessed cleanliness drives, awareness programmes and community-participation activities across Campbell Bay, Car Nicobar, Ferrargunj, Mayabunder, Prothrapur, Nancowry, Little Andaman, Rangat and Diglipur Blocks.
More than 450 participants, including students, SafaiMitras, officials, PRI representatives and community members, actively participated in the activities organised under various SHS 2026 pillars, including Safai Mitra Suraksha evam Samman Shivir, Transformation of CTUs & Public Spaces, Jan Bhagidari and Swachh Pathshala.
The day’s activities included Swachh rallies, IEC material distribution, cleanliness drives, awareness on four-way source segregation, student awareness programmes and quiz competitions. Special focus was given to Safai Mitra welfare, transformation of public spaces, youth participation and responsible waste management.
