Sri Vijaya Puram, Feb. 21: The District Administration, South Andaman, in its continued efforts to safeguard community spaces and ensure the lawful use of public property, has been maintaining strict vigilance and proactive monitoring across the district. As part of this drive, the Administration has undertaken eviction operations against recent encroachments at multiple locations under Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil, resulting in the restoration of Government land from unauthorized occupation.
A major eviction drive was carried out today at School Line and Garacharma villages. During the operation, Revenue officials successfully removed unauthorized encroachments, comprising fencing and 01 temporary structures erected on Government land at School Line village, as well as tin-sheet temporary structures at Attampahad, Garacharma village. An area measuring approximately 2,200 Square Meter of Government Revenue Land has been restored to its original shape by the District Revenue authorities.
Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
