Sri Vijaya Puram, May 6: In a significant step towards achieving the goal of “Housing for All,” the District Administration of South Andaman has successfully handed over land possession to 105 landless beneficiaries identified under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) in C.D. Block Ferrargunj.
Although licences for 50 sqm land parcels had been allotted to each landless beneficiaries on 3rd September 2025, construction work could not commence earlier due to pending demarcation of the land. The Administration has now completed the demarcation process, enabling beneficiaries to begin building their permanent homes.
The demarcation was carried out by the Tehsildar along with revenue officials, and land possession was formally handed over to beneficiaries from 13 Gram Panchayats. The event was conducted in the presence of the respective Pradhans and the Block Development Officer (BDO), C.D. Block Ferrargunj.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in strengthening the implementation of PMAY-G in the district and reflects the Administration’s proactive approach toward inclusive rural development.
