Little Andaman, May 23: District Administration, South Andaman has taken strict action against violators who indulged in illegal extraction of White Moorum in contravention of Land Revenue Regulations and mines and Mineral Rules.
During a recent field inspection, the revenue officials found unauthorized extraction of White Moorum at Rabindra Nagar Village under Little Andaman Tehsil. As a result, a fine of Rs 24,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty-Four Lakh only) has been imposed on the violators against illegal extraction and dumping of White Moorum.
The Deputy Commissioner has issued a stern warning to all such unscrupulous elements indulging in illegal mining, earth transportation and unauthorized dumping. Further the District Administration, South Andaman reiterates that such illegal activities will not be tolerated. Strict penal action will be taken against all violators. The law will take its own course and those who attempt to bypass it, will face the consequences.
The general public is hereby advised to follow all legal provisions concerning land use, mining and material movement.
