Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 30: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Andaman & Nicobar Islands, organized a Legal Awareness Programme today at Tushnabad Gram Panchayat, in collaboration with IHRCCO. The programme focused on creating awareness on key legal topics, namely Mediation, the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, the POCSO Act, the NDPS Act, the POSH Act, and the rights of Senior Citizens.
The programme was graciously presided over by Shri Sudhir Kumar, Learned District Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The programme was also attended by Shri Jayanta Mukherjee, Learned Judicial Magistrate First Class-II, Port Blair, and Shri Anupam Sircar, Learned Judicial Magistrate, Additional Court, Port Blair.
Smti. Saraswati Narayan, National General Secretary and State President, IHRCCO, and Smti. Preeja Menon, Learned Advocate, Panel of DLSA, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Anand Amrit Raj, Pradhan, Tushnabad actively participated and addressed the gathering.
A large number of villagers from Tushnabad Gram Panchayat attended the programme and actively interacted with the resource persons, making the programme informative and successful.
