
Sri Vijaya Puram, April 16: As part of Fire Service Week, observed from 14th April 2026 to 20th April 2026, community outreach programmes were organized to enhance public awareness on fire hazard and fire safety measures. A drawing and painting competition was organized in Fire and Emergency Services (HQ.) on 16th April, 2026 and also in various Fire Stations spread across A & N Islands.
The competition was divided into two categories, first from class I to class V & the other category from class VI to class IX. Altogether, 54 students from different Schools participated in two categories (Class I- V & Class VI to IX). Following are the list of winners.
Category I (Class I to V)

A felicitation ceremony was organised after the drawing competition at Fire & Emergency Services HQ. Shri. Uma Shankar, DANIPS Superintendent of Police (Fire and Emergency Services) was the Chief Guest of the event. The winners were honoured with certificates and prizes, presented by the Chief Guest himself.
At the end, Shri Uma Shankar, DANIPS, appreciated the fire officials for organizing the drawing competition and welcomed the students. He emphasized the importance of their participation, highlighted fire safety awareness, and noted that young students play a key role in building a safer society.
