
Sri Vijaya Puram, May 24: Continuing its aggressive crackdown against narcotics trafficking and drug networks, the Anti-Narcotics Police Station achieved another significant breakthrough by arresting a local-based co-accused in connection with 20(b)(ii)(B)/29 Anti-Narcotics Police Station FIR No. 08/2026 dated 17.04.2026 U/s ganja. of the NDPS Act, 1985 relating to seizure of 6.330 Kg of illicit.
Earlier, in connection with FIR No. 08/2026 dated 17.04.2026 registered under intelligence the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, acting on specific intercepted inputs, a team of Anti-Narcotics Police Station had successfully one accused namely R. Murugananthgam S/o Shri А. Ramachandran (29 Years), Pvt. Driver, R/o Near Ganesh Mandir, New Pahargaon, Sri Vijaya Puram, who had arrived at Sri Vijaya Puram from Kolkata on 17.04.2026 by Air India Express flight. Upon checking his luggage, 6.330 Kg of ganja concealed inside his bag was recovered and seized. Thereafter, the accused was arrested after observing all codal formalities under the NDPS Act, 1985 and is presently under Judicial Custody.
During sustained investigation, technical analysis, examination of digital evidence and development of interstate linkages, accused S. Stalin David S/o Shri S. Satyanarayana (34 yrs), R/o Dolly Gunj, Sri Vijaya Puram, was identified and arrested on 21.05.2026 for allegedly facilitating transportation, local coordination and delivery of contraband ganja from Kolkata to Sri Vijaya Puram, and for distributing the contraband in small quantities to local drug addicts for illegal monetary gain..
Investigation further revealed that the accused was allegedly involved in coordinating interstate transportation of ganja consignments from Kolkata and local distribution in Sri Vijaya Puram through carriers and other associates. Financial transactions connected with the narcotics network are also being examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
The investigation of the case is being carried out by SI Manoj Lal, AntiNarcotics Police Station, under the close supervision of Inspector K. Binoj, SHO, Anti-Narcotics Police Station, whose diligent and sustained efforts in tracing financial transactions, digital evidence and backward-forward linkages resulted in the identification and subsequent arrest of the co-accused.
The case was successfully detected and investigated under the supervision of Smti. Suma Madda, DANIPS, Dy.SP (Narcotics) and the overall supervision of Shri Jitendra Kumar Meena, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police (CID), A&N Islands.
