
Car Nicobar, Feb. 12: A grand Felicitation Programme was organized jointly by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Nicobar District and SAI STC, Car Nicobar today at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamaloo Village, Car Nicobar, to honour the outstanding achievements of cyclists who have represented Nicobar District at various National and International Championships.
The young cyclists have brought immense pride to the district by winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, thereby placing Car Nicobar prominently on the sporting map of the nation. Their dedication, discipline, and hard work were highly appreciated during the ceremony.
The programme was graced by Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, as the chief guest. He felicitated the medal winners with appreciation certificates and as a token of encouragement a cash prize on recognition and encouragement and congratulated them for their remarkable achievements. In his address, he encouraged the youth to continue striving for excellence and assured continued support from the District Administration for the promotion and development of sports in Nicobar.
The event witnessed the presence of the Secretary of the Tribal Council, and Village Captains & HoDs/HoOs under Car Nicobar along with sports officials, coaches, parents and well-wishers. Their presence reflected the strong community support for nurturing young sporting talent in the district.
The programme concluded with a message inspiring the youth of Nicobar to actively participate in sports and bring further laurels to the district and the nation.
