Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 15: The Institution of Engineers (India), Andaman & Nicobar State Centre (IEI ANSC) celebrated the 59th Engineers’ Day on 15 September 2026 at the ALHW Conference Hall, Mohanpura, on the theme “Engineering Excellence for a Sustainable and Technologically Sovereign India.”
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Er. Usha Stephen, FIE, Chairperson, IEI ANSC, followed by the Annual Report presented by Er. Debdas Paik, MIE, Honorary Secretary. This was followed by addresses from Comdt Naresh Kumar Sharma, Superintendent, CGRPT, Sri Vijaya Puram, the Keynote Speaker; Er. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Executive Director (Projects), NHIDCL, the Special Guest; and Maj Gen Dr. Shri Pal, VSM (Retd), FIE, the Chief Guest.
The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks by the Honorary Secretary. The celebration was attended by corporate members and committee members of IEI ANSC.
The programme was followed by a technical session by Er. C. H. Kiran Kumar, and felicitation of J. Dinesh, B.Tech Third Year, DBRAIT, for the poster presentation competition.
