Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 15: The U-17 Boys Football Team of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is set to represent the Islands in the prestigious 65th Subroto Mukherjee Cup International Football Tournament–2026, to be held at New Delhi from 15th to 24th September, 2026. The team earned the opportunity after emerging as the winner of the State Level Football Tournament held in April 2026. Following their victory, the selected players underwent rigorous and advanced training at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram, under the guidance of qualified coaches and Physical Education Teachers to prepare for the National Championship.
Ahead of their departure, Shri. Aditya Sangotra, Director (Education) bestowed his blessings and conveyed his best wishes to the team, Team Coach & Team Manager at the Directorate of Education, Sri Vijaya Puram on 12th of September, 2026.
