Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: The Department of Art & Culture, A & N Administration proposes to include cultural programmes during the Book Fair 2025, scheduled to be held from April 1 to 10, 2025, at the ITF Ground. In this connection, participations have been invited from the Cultural Organizations of A & N Islands for presenting live musical band for presenting folk/non filmy songs, solo/duet instrumental/drama and dance performances under four categories, Classical/Semi-Classical and, Contemporary and Folk, Drama.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: The Fisheries Training Centre, Marine Hill, Department of Fisheries, with the Financial Assistance from National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) proposes to organize a three days Training Programme on ‘Mud Crab Fattening and Shrimp Farming’ during the month of March,2025. The comprehensive programme will cover all the aspects of Brackish water aquaculture, design and layout of shrimp and crab farm, pre-stocking and stocking management of shrimp and crab aquaculture, food and feeding, health management etc.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: Firing practice will be carried out by Coast Guard at Chinthe Long range on Mar. 13 & 20 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. All concerned have been warned to keep to themselves and their vehicle/livestock away from the firing range during the mentioned date and time.

Sri Vijaya Puram, March 10: Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, led the Islanders in paying rich tributes to the heroes of First War of Independence today. This day (Mar 10) commemorates the arrival of the First Batch of Freedom Fighters of 1857 to these Islands. At a solemn function held at the Chatham Memorial at Chatham Island this morning, the Hon’ble Lt. Governor laid wreath at the Memorial as a mark of respect to the Freedom Fighters.
