Port Blair, May 24: Keeping in view the frequent power disruptions and its rising demand in the city, Shri Jitendra Narain, Chief Secretary, A & N Administration directed that several teams consisting of Senior Officers of Administration, Revenue, Police and Power Department be constituted who have been ordered to conduct surprise inspection at all commercial establishments and hotels to ascertain their technical parameters, power demand and consumption.

Port Blair, May 24: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration to consider constructing a shed at both Marina Park and Gandhi Park, where children and other visitors can take shelter during sudden and heavy rain.

He also requested the Chief Secretary to construct these sheds in such a way that it does not spoil the natural beauty of the place.

Port Blair, May 24: Today the Food Safety Department, A&N Administration carried out surprise inspections of Ice Cream manufacturing units at Port Blair.

Major ice cream manufacturing units of the city were inspected. The Food Safety Regulators checked the sanitary and hygienic conditions, good manufacturing and hygienic practices followed at the premises. They also inspected the labelling conditions and other relevant conditions as required under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, Rules and Regulations made there under.

Port Blair, May 24: Continuing its zero tolerance policy towards encroachment on government land, the revenue department of South Andaman District carried out eviction drive committed over Government land at Port Blair Tehsil. 

Port Blair, May 24: The resident families of Hopetown whose houses were damaged by the landslide due to the heavy rainfall have been shifted to Primary School, Hopetown.

The families reached out for help to Shri Mandeep Grewal, President, PBGKR. Reacting to the request, PBGKR delivered 15 Ration kits at the Primary School at Hopetown on the same day.
