Mayabunder, June 22: The Assistant Commissioner (HQ), Mayabunder, O/o the District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder yesterday held a meeting with the Common Service Centre (CSC) operators of Mayabunder sub-division to sensitize them in resolving the issues being faced by the citizens in the timely delivery of e-Services.

It is brought to the notice of electricity consumer and general public that, due to shortfall of power generation and to manage the shortfall of power generation through available power, ongoing load shedding will be continued in Port Blair and South Andaman area during evening peak hours from 04.15 PM to 11.15 PM for one hour, if required, on daily basis as per schedule given below.

Port Blair, June 22: Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight is being observed by all the health facilities of this Union Territory from June 19 and will continue upto July 1, 2023. To mark the event, a State level programme was organized by Directorate of Health Services in association with UT Health Mission on June 20 at Community Hall Prothrapur with the ultimate aim to ensure ‘zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea among under 5 children’.

Port Blair, June 22: PM-KISAN is a Central Sector Scheme-Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ launched on 24th February, 2019 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi to supplement the financial needs of land holding farmers. It is the largest DBT (Direct benefit transfer) Scheme in the world. Under this scheme, the financial benefit of Rs. 6000/- per year is transferred directly into the bank accounts of farmers’ families across the country. The scheme has increased farmers’ capacity for risk-taking, allowing them to make riskier but productive investments and take advantage of the process and technical developments.

Port Blair, June 22: The Directorate of Industries, A&N Administration organized a short term Skill Development training program on ‘Handicrafts (Coconut Shell & Wood) products’ at Gram Panchayat Collinpur from 25.05.2023. Altogether, 23 candidates participated in the training program and were imparted the basic skills and knowledge for making handicrafts, thus creating self-employment opportunities and avenues for their livelihood.
