Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 1: Attention of all Business Operators under the jurisdiction of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has been invited to Section 22 of CGST Act '2017 read with Section 21 of UTGST Act, 2017 wherein it is compulsory for all Business entities whose aggregate turnover crosses Rs. 40 Lakhs (for Supplier of Goods) and Rs. 20 Lakhs (for Service Provider) in a financial year to take GST registration in Union Territory of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec 1: All concerned have been informed that the Govt. of India has rolled out Goods & Services Tax (GST) w.e.f. 01.07.2017 on Goods and Services across the country including the Union Territory Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The GST Facilitation Centre (GST Suvidha Kendra) is in operation since June 2017 and Help Desks have also been opened in Common Services Centres, A&N Islands to help taxpayers with GST compliance including GST Registration, GST Return Filing, Refund etc.

A staggering 6,016 kilograms of methamphetamine was recovered from six Myanmarese nationals in a meticulously planned operation of the Andaman & Nicobar Police in close coordination with the Indian Coast Guard, leading to arrest and seizure of Narco cartel members. As the probe unfolds, new and important findings are emerging, pointing to the scale and sophistication of the transnational drug network involved in this case.
