Port Blair, Jan. 24: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 101 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 8 flights with 528 passengers arrived, out of which, 387 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on129 passengers (5 foreign travellers) and the reports are awaited. 

Port Blair, Jan 24: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,03,236 beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands. Similarly, 21,863 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years against the target beneficiaries of23,000. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 4623.

Port Blair, Jan 24: Due to technical reasons, the services of Vehicle ferry vessel MV Pilobhabi plying between Chatham – Bambooflat has been withdrawn from services w.e.f. 25.01.2022. In absence of MV Pilobhabi, 02 Vehicle ferry vessels namely MV Mus and MV Lapathy shall be providing services in the above route. However, the Directorate is putting all efforts for early completion of the repair and restore normalcy. Till such time, the commuters are requested to cooperate with this Directorate.

Member of Parliament Suggests Measures to the Lt. Governor to Mitigate the Scarcity

Port Blair, Jan 23: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has highlighted the issue of acute scarcity of potable water in Chouldary area before the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and suggested measures to solve this problem.

In a letter addressed to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor dated 21.01.2022, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the residents of Choudhary Gram Panchayat and its surrounding villages are experiencing severe scarcity of potable water, which need to be resolved on priority before the ensuing summer season.
