Port Blair, Sept. 19: Fish farmers of Brindaban Gram Panchayat and adjoining areas have been informed that the distribution of freshwater fish seeds (fingerling) of Catla, Rohu and Mrigal shall be held at Gram Panchayat Office, Brindaban tomorrow (Sept. 20) from 10.30 am. Interested fish farmers have been requested to collect the freshwater fish seeds from the place of distribution. The cost of each oxygenated packet of fingerling sized fish seed is Rs. 210/- and the payment should be made on the spot.

Port Blair, Sept. 19: Firing practice will be carried out at NSCB Dweep by Indian Navy and Indian Army on Sept. 20 and Sept. 22 from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Safe flying height is above 7000m AMSL. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their fishing boats away from firing area during the mentioned date and time.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The two-day visit of Hon'ble Raksha Rajya Mantri (RRM), Shri Ajay Bhatt, to the enchanting Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 17 Sep to 18 Sep 23 was marked by meticulously planned activities and meaningful interactions. The visit began with paying homage to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Sankalp Smarak at INS Utkrosh, followed by a courtesy meeting with Hon'ble Lt Governor Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM. AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd) at Raj Niwas. This was followed by the grand inauguration of the PM Vishwakarma Yojna at the BR Ambedkar Auditorium, coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti. PM Vishwakarma is a newly announced scheme for artisans and traditional crafts people, which was mentioned by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Independence Day speech to the Nation.

Port Blair, Sept. 18: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration to expedite the process of releasing pending salaries to the Samgra Siksha contractual staff in the Education Department.

As such issues of payment delays for contractual teachers/ staffs and lecturers are seen often, he has also requested the Chief Secretary to keep a reserve fund available so that in case of delay due to administrative procedures, these teachers/ staffs and lecturers can be paid at the month end from the reserve funds.
