Port Blair, June 7: The ANTCC President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has demanded the Administration to provide meals service to the Patients’ Attendants at GB Pant Hospital.

In a letter addressed to the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration, Mr. Halder said that patients' attendants are facing huge difficulties in accessing meals while accompanying their close ones during their stay at GB Pant Hospital.

Port Blair, June 7: Mr. K Ganeshan, President, DNA, along with Mr. Vijay Kr. Roy, Editor-in-Chief, The Echo of India today met the Secretary (IP&T) and submitted a representation highlighting three vital issues related to IP&T empanelled local print media. The first issue was regarding re-starting the Media Exposure Tour to the mainland which was halted after the Covid-19 pandemic. The second issue was regarding the issue of vacancy notices in print media. The Vacancy Notices are presently published only in The Daily Telegrams. The third issue was related to deputing designated PRO in different departments of the administration who can clarify doubts/queries of local media related to their department.  

Port Blair, June 7: Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair is organizing Samoohik Upanayan Sanskar (Thread ceremony) on 14th June at Mission auditorium. Port Blair, June 7: As per Meteorological Department’s Weather Report, heavy rain (07-11 cm) is likely to occur at one or two places over Andaman Islands and thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) is also likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on June 8. Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty wind (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) is likely to occur at one or two places over A&N Islands on June 9, 10 & 11.  Due to strong Southwest monsoon current, wind speed likely to prevail between 40-50 kmph over Andaman Sea. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Sea till June 11.

Port Blair, June 7: An awareness programme on ill effects of drugs abuse was organized in the conference hall of Police Station, Aberdeen yesterday. Around 70 Police officials attended the programme. Dr. M.K Mahato, Medical Officer In-Charge for Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Addicts (IRCA), SA spoke about prevalence and ill effects of drug abuse and addiction. He also suggested ways and measures to stay away from drugs.
