Port Blair, Nov. 20: Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party had taken up the issue of non-availability of Veterinary Medicines at Andaman & Nicobar Islands especially in the remote regions of the Islands, where farmers are suffering since long, due to the non-availability of Veterinary Medicines. The matter was taken up with the Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying.

All 158 Samples Collected Found Free from Chemical Preservatives

Port Blair, Nov. 20: The Food Safety Department, Andaman & Nicobar Islands in their continuous endeavor to ensure availability of safe, wholesome and hygienic food to the general public recently conducted fish testing at major fish markets in the town with the help of testing kits developed by ICAR-CIFT to detect the presence of chemical preservatives like ammonia and formalin etc. Total 158 fish samples were tested at Mohanpura, Junglighat and Bathu Basthi fish markets and all those fishes were found free from chemical preservatives.

Port Blair, Nov. 20: Considering ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and consequential adverse impact on imparting training for in-service police personnel, the Andaman & Nicobar Police has initiated short courses at Police Training School, Prothrapur on virtual platform. 

Digi-Locker and m-Parivahan Mobile App Can be Used to Produce Documents

Port Blair, Nov. 20: It has been observed during traffic checking that most of the drivers resort to produce photo images or xerox copies of driving license/RC and related documents. In addition, those drivers whose driving license was suspended for certain violations were found driving their vehicles by producing photo images or xerox copy of driving licence. It is difficult to ascertain the genuineness of the documents and makes it difficult to book violators on the spot. In this regard, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has permitted for production of DL/RC & related documents through Digi-Locker and m-Parivahan mobile app besides producing in original.

Port Blair, Nov. 20: An orientation cum awareness programme on de-addiction was conducted by the District Administration in coordination with the District Health Society (SA), District Child Protection Unit, District Level Centre for Women, Directorate of Health Services, Police Department and Nehru Yuva Kendra.
