Port Blair, Oct 1: A cleanliness drive was organised by Beodnabad Gram Panchayat today as a part of paying tribute to the Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The areas covered were the places under this Panchayat's jurisdiction such as Beodnabad village, Rangachang, Kodiyaghat etc.  The drive was conducted by Beodnabad Panchayat in association with Zilla Parishad, PHED, APWD, Protherapur and the Coast Guard.

Port Blair, Sept. 30: The State Child Protection Society (SCPS) under the Directorate of Social Welfare organized an awareness program on the topic of ‘Child Rights and Responsibilities’ at Govt. Middle School, Kanyapuram recently. The objective of this program is to educate students about the basic rights and responsibilities that every child is entitled to. In this awareness program, about 40 students participated from different classes of primary sections.

Catphishing is a form of online abuse, wherein the cyber criminal makes use of various channels like instant messaging apps, SMS, online dating apps, social media platforms, porn sites etc., to lure the users into intimate video/audio chats and makes them pose nude or obtains revealing pictures from them. The fraudsters later make use of this material to harass, embarrass, threaten, exploit and blackmail the victims.

Port Blair, Sept. 30: The valedictory function of 6th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, 2023 by ICDS Urban and Ferrargunj Project was held at Tagore Auditorium, Middle Point today.  Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare) was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Director elaborated on the importance of millets in life. The programme was attended by the officers of Social Welfare and a large gathering of mothers.

Port Blair, Sept. 29: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma held a meeting on September 27, 2023, with the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration. During the meeting, he raised pressing concerns regarding the deplorable condition of NH4, which has been causing great deal of hardships for the residents of North & Middle Andaman, as well as NH4 commuters.

Expressing deep concern for the deteriorating state of NH4, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma requested the Chief Secretary to initiate a daily ferry service between Port Blair and Rangat, as well as Rangat to Port Blair.
