Port Blair, Oct. 9: With a view to provide better medical facilities in the rural pockets of South Andaman, Chakraborty Multi Specialty Hospital has opened its clinic at Tapu Basti, Bambooflat on 8th Oct. 2020.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: On 3rd October 2020, a missing report of Debesha Mandal resident of New Pahargaon was reported at PS Pahargaon from Smti. Vaisali Nath R/o Ograbraj.  Soon after the receipt of missing report, series of steps were taken to locate the missing person. Through technical surveillance and sustained investigation of few suspects, the entire sequence of crime came into the fore. Immediately, a case was registered u/s 364/302/120(B)/34 IPC and the investigation was taken up by Insp. D Jagdishwar Rao, SHO PS Pahargaon. During sustained interrogation, 04 suspects confessed of their involvement in the crime.

Port Blair, Oct. 8: In a major breakthrough, A&N Police once again strikes at the root of the drug problem in the Islands. A Joint team of South Andaman Police and CID consisting of ASP Narra Chaitanya, IPS and SI K. Ilangovan left for Hutbay on 06/10/2020 with some Intelligence inputs. In an operation closely coordinated from Port Blair by PC/1418 Shiva Kumar and PC/586 Suresh Kumar, a raiding team was constituted which was led by ASP Narra Chaitanya, IPS, SDPO SA including SI Ilangovan, SHO Bamboolfat and SI Subramani, SHO Hutbay. The team successfully conducted the raid on the house of Sukhen Hajra, 68 yrs, R/o R K Pur, Hutbay and seized 3.096 kgs of Methamphetamine from his possession. 

Port Blair, Oct. 8: Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration for berthing cargo vessels at Mayabunder that are coming from Kolkatta and Chennai for the convenience of local businessmen of North & Middle Andaman and public in general. The berthing of cargo vessels has been stopped at Mayabunder post lockdown ie. March 2020. 

Port Blair, Oct. 8: On 04/10/2020, a complaint was received at PS Pahargaon regarding theft of gold ornaments worth Rs. 2,19,000/- from Smti. Reeta Rani Dey, resident of Kamraj Nagar. Immediately, a case was registered at PS Pahargaon vide FIR No. 287/20 dtd 04/10/2020 U/s 457/380 IPC and several teams were constituted and search of suspects were started in nearby areas of the locality and a number of people were enquired to obtain leads. After strenuous interrogation of few suspects of the area and with the aid of technical surveillance, all the stolen gold ornaments were recovered and the accused involved in the crime Samir Mandal, (21) yrs, resident of Kamraj Nagar was arrested.
