Port Blair, June 16: To address the damage caused by heavy rain and flooding in the Diglipur Sub-Division on June 11, 2024, the District Administration of North and Middle Andaman today provided financial assistance under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). The aid was distributed during an event held at the Conference Hall, GPOA Building, Diglipur.

Port Blair, June 16: On 15/06/2024, acting on a specific intelligence input from a reliable source, a team consisting of SI Parvash, HC/733 Sanjit Madhu, and HC/264 Sanjay Kujur, HC/1713 K. Venkateshwar Rao, PC/1143 K Rajendran & PC/1067 N. Thangaraj apprehended three persons, namely Sulyman Madke S/o Niral Marki (34) yrs, Pvt. Driver R/o Mayabunder, Husil Minj S/o Shri. Zakarias Minj (25) yrs, Co-Driver R/o Mayabunder, and M. Vijay S/o Shri. P. Mutturamalingam (28) yrs, Pvt. Labour R/o Rest Camp, Mayabunder, with 32 pieces measuring 1.100 cbm of illegal sawn padauk timber of different sizes and a vehicle bearing registration No AN01 R 5401 from Sippighat Junction. Padauk timbers were seized, and the accused persons were detained after following due procedure.
