Port Blair, Nov. 29: An awareness meeting was held in the conference hall of the Port Blair Municipal Council to sensitize the Ward Councilors about the implementation of Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The meeting was attended by the Chairperson, PBMC, Smti. U Kavitha, Senior Vice Chairperson, PBMC, Shri Azizur Rahman and all Ward Councilors.

Port Blair, Nov. 29: As a part of the observance of Vasectomy Fortnight, a State Level awareness programme along with NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) screening camp was organized by the Directorate of Health Services, A & N Administration in association with Union Territory Health Mission, A & N Islands at Police Line, Drill Hall for Police personnel today. Shri R K Sharma, DSP (AP) was the chief guest of the programme. Dr. Deepak Kumar, Associate Professor Community Medicine, ANIIMS addressed the gathering on myths involved with Vasectomy and said that despite tremendous progress women still majorly shoulder the responsibility of Family Planning.

Diglipur, Nov. 29: An unidentified dead body in highly decomposed state of which buttock portion with both femur bones of the body missing has been recovered at the sea shore of INS Kohassa Beach area on 05/11/2022. There was a faded underwear brand ‘K-Power’ on the body. In this regard a UDFIR 15/2022 dated 05/11/2022 u/s 174 Cr.PC has been chalked out at PS Diglipur. The body is presently kept in the mortuary of CHC, Diglipur for identification.
