Port Blair, Nov. 21: As part of the celebration of World Fisheries Day-2022, the Department of Fisheries organized a technical workshop on ‘Fisheries & Aquaculture Development in A&N Islands’ and felicitation session to recognize the best performed Fishers/Fish Farmers/Fish Vendors/Entrepreneurs /Fish processors and Field officials of Fisheries Department in the conference hall of Industries Department today. The Secretary Fisheries, A&N Administration, Shri G. Sudhakar was the chief guest on the occasion.

Port Blair, Nov. 21: The Department of Industries has been implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises Scheme (PMFME)’ of Ministry of Food Processing Industries under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan with the objective to formulize and strengthen Micro Food Processing Enterprises by utilizing the local resources. Under the scheme, financial assistance in the form of Credit Linked Subsidy @ 35% of the project cost will be extended to the individual and group enterprises.

Port Blair, Nov. 21: The two-days training programme on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS)-India Certification for A&N (UT) for Lead Resource Persons (LRPs) working on Organic & Natural Farming, Regional Council registered under PGS-India Programme, Service providers and Officers/Officials of Department of Agriculture, A&N Islands got underway with its inauguration by the Joint Director of Agriculture, Shri Ramesh Kumar in the conference hall of Directorate of Agriculture, Haddo today. The programme is being organized by Regional Centre for Organic and Natural Farming, (RCOF) Bhubaneswar in association with Department of Agriculture, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
