Port Blair, July 19: An Oxygen generation facility was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Ajai Singh, AVSM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN) on 19 Jul 21 in presence of Shri Dr. V Chandavelou, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Health), Andaman and Nicobar Administration, Dr. Omkar Singh, Director (Health), Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Mr. Anjan Halder, Project Head, M/s ITD Cementation India Limited and Senior Officers of ANC. Considering the severity of the COVID-19 second wave and the subsequent exponential surge in demand for medical grade oxygen, HQ ANC had initiated various measures to augment the medical and support facilities at Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, July 19: Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 16 July 2021 along with a delegation met the Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Administration Shri. Jitendra Narain and highlighted the issues of part time employees/workers numbering around 750. The employees include Pre Primary Teachers, Craft Instructors, Pre Primary Ayah/ Safai Karmachari and Attendants posted at various schools of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, July 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration for early settlement of pension cases of retired Govt. servants of various departments in the A&N Administration, which are pending for couple of months since their retirement. He reiterated that some of the pensioners are wholly depending on pension to meet their daily needs especially the Group ‘C’ employees.
