Port Blair, Nov. 5: The Former State President, BJP, Shri. Vishal Jolly has written a letter to Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration requesting an increase in the convoys operating between Jirkatang to Middle Strait and vice versa. The convoys were curtailed and restricted to limit the movement due to the COVID pandemic since March 2020.

Port Blair, Nov. 5: The Badminton Association of Andaman & Nicobar Islands (BAANI) is conducting ‘Diwali Badminton Tournament 2021 at Dairy Farm Badminton Court. The four-day tournament commenced on 4th Nov. 2021 with a formal inauguration done by Shri G Bhasker, Patron of BAANI as the Chief Guest. More than 30 teams are participating in the tournament, the finals of which will be held on 7th Nov. 2021.

Port Blair, Nov. 3: The District Magistrate, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS has issued fresh Lockdown Orders considering the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the islands. According to the Order, Lockdown/restricted movement shall continue to be in force in the entire District of South Andaman from 01.11.2021.

Port Blair, Nov. 5: A total of 5,01,189 doses of vaccines have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1,73,667 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 3782 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.

Port Blair, Nov. 3: The District Magistrate, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS today issued an order prohibiting use of fire crackers (carrying barium or other banned chemicals or mislabeled) except for green crackers permitted by PESO (Petroleum & Explosives Safety Organisation) on religious occasions, in the jurisdiction of South Andaman District.
