Bharat will celebrate its 76th Independence Day on August 15. The day marks the country's freedom from the British Raj in 1947. The Government of India started a 75-week countdown in March 2021 towards the 75th anniversary of India's independence. The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations will conclude on August 15, 2023.

Port Blair, Aug 14: The Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) has implemented the Coastal Cleanliness Campaign “Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar/Clean Coast Safe Sea” from 05th July 2022 which will culminate on 17th September 2022.

Port Blair, Aug 14: In the clarion call of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to hoist the National Flag in every home from August 13 to August 15 to mark 75 years of India’s Independence, Shri Vishal Jolly National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI participated and started the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign at Shore Point village in association with Sparsha NGO.

Shri Ashok Kumar Paul, DFO Wimberlygunj was the chief guest and flagged off the rally from Bambooflat Jetty.
