Port Blair, Aug 31: The District Magistrate South Andaman has issued the following SOPs to be followed in Restaurants/ Hotels to contain spread of COVID-19.
Given the current coVID-19 outbreak in India, it is important that restaurants/ Hotels and other hospitality units take suitable measures to restrict any further transmission of the virus while providing restaurant services.

Port Blair, Aug 31: In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 amongst tribes, the number of convoys on the Andaman Trunk Road passing through Jarawa Tribal Reserve is restricted in the following manner.
Only two convoys per day as per the following schedule shall be allowed:

AAJVS Worker Who Accompanied a Medical Team Inside JTR Tests Positive to Corona
Port Blair, Aug 30: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration has started a vigorous campaign to ensure the welfare of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) of Andaman Islands. As claimed by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, in it its official mouthpiece, ‘The Daily Telegrams’, as a proactive measure the Jarawa were shifted to the West Coast while the Great Andamanese were shifted to Strait Island when the Corona pandemic broke in the islands. Convoys on the ATR has also been restricted to ensure the safety of the Jarawa community, while field functionaries have been regularly advised to interact with tribals with face mask, gloves and keeping distance.
