Port Blair, May 21: Heavy rain (7-11 cm) is likely at one or two places over A&N Islands and thunderstorm with lightning is also likely over one or two places over A&N Islands on May 22, 23, 24 & 25. Squally weather with gusty surface wind exceeding 45 kmph is very likely to be along and off A&N coast. Sea conditions are very likely to be rough to very rough. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till May 25.

Port Blair, May 21: Vessel M.V. Swaraj Dweep is expected to arrive at Port Blair on May 22 at 1800 hrs from Chennai. She has on board 413 passengers and 221.5 MT of cargo. On arrival, the vessel will be berthed at Haddo Wharf and passengers will be disembarked immediately.

Shaheed Dweep, May 20: A highly beneficial multi-specialty health camp was conducted on the 19th of May 2024, at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Shaheed Dweep. This significant health initiative was a collaboration between the NGO WITH YOU, the Directorate of Health Services, and Dr. Ritika's Diagnostic Center. The Gram Panchayat of Shaheed Dweep also extended its full support to ensure the camp’s success.

Port Blair, May 20: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to resume supply of food to patients of CHC Kamorta.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the patients of CHC Kamorta are not being provided with food, causing considerable distress and hardship.

Port Blair, May 20: The State Institute of Education (SIE), Port Blair in collaboration with Regional Institute of Education, NCERT Bhubaneswar is conducting ‘10 Days Induction Training Programme for the newly recruited GTTs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands from May 20 to 30, 2024 at various venues in Port Blair.

The main objective of the programme is to develop the Capacity of newly recruited GTTs in content enrichment, academic activities and class room management. Altogether, 494 newly recruited GTTs and 50 resource persons from SIE, DIET Port Blair and RIE, Bhubaneswar are participating in the Induction Training Programme.
