Mayabunder, Oct. 13: For inspection of the proposed site for construction of Deep Sea Fishing Harbour at Mayabunder, North and Middle Andaman, Shri G. Sudhakar, Secretary (Fisheries), A&N Administration alongwith Dr. K.Gopal, Joint Director (Fisheries) visited Mayabunder from Oct. 8 to 10, 2022. During the visit, the Secretary (Fisheries) held meeting with PRIs and interacted with the fisher community at Mayabunder, Karamatang and Tugapur.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: The Model Career Centre (Employment Exchange) in association with the Directorate of Industries and A&NI Khadi & Village Industries Board organised a Rozgar evam Swarozgar Mela in the Community Hall of Gram Panchayat Tushnabad today. Shri Balwan Singh Jaglan, IAS, Secretary (Labour, Employment and Training) chief guest of the programme while addressing the gathering elucidated that the main objective of the Rozgar evam Swarozgar Mela is to facilitate a platform between the private employers and jobseekers and also to extend platform between self-employment implementing departments and unemployed youth who wish to set up self-employment ventures for their livelihood.

Port Blair, Oct. 13: Two COVID positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 14 flights with 1643 passengers arrived, out of which, 1460 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 128 passengers and the reports are awaited.
