Port Blair, May, 10: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 295 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1553 passengers arrived, out of which, 1319 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 253 passengers and the reports are awaited.

INTER ISLAND SECTOR:

MV Chowra will sail for Car Nicobar on 13.05.2022 (Fri) at 0900 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 14.05.2022 (Sat) at 1600 Hrs from Car Nicobar.

Passenger Tickets for onward journey will be issued on 13.05.2022 at Haddo Wharf two hours prior to the departure time of the vessel based on the list provided by Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Port Blair and also after due verification of COVID Test Certificate and Islander Card/Local Certificate/Tribal Pass etc.

LITTLE ANDAMAN SECTOR:

MV Bharat Seema will sail for Little Andaman on 12.05.2022 (Thu) at 2000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 13.05.2022 (Fri) at 0800 Hrs from Little Andaman.

Port Blair, May 9: Shri Neeraj Thakur, IPS has taken over the charge of Director General of Police, A & N Islands in the forenoon of 09th May, 2022. A ceremonial Guard of Honour was presented at Police Headquarters to welcome the DGP.

Thakur, an officer of 1994 batch of Indian Police Service, has wide experience and has served in various capacities in Delhi, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa and Mizoram. He has also served with Central Govt. Organization on deputation and in Kosovo as part of United Nations Peace Keeping Mission. After serving as Chief of Special Cell, Delhi Police for 3 years, he has been posted as DGP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, May 9: Under the able guidance of the Chief Secretary, Shri Jitendra Narain, the A&N Administration is continuously in pursuit to make the services being offered by the A&N Administration citizen friendly.

Until now the officers were designated as Registrars under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, as such no marriages were being registered under the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955.

Port Blair, May 9: The General Body meeting of the ASNVMS (CITU) was held at the Hotel ACC, Mohanpura, Port Blair today (08.05.2022) morning. The meeting discussed about various pending demands of the workers working in APWD and the unfavourable attitude on the part of the Administration towards the demands.
