Port Blair, June 21: On the occasion of 10th International Day of Yoga, 2024, the AYUSH Unit of the Department of Health Services, Andaman and Nicobar Administration organized a grand main function in the auditorium of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Marina Park, Port Blair here this morning.

As part of the countrywide celebrations, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the citizens from Srinagar and led the yoga practice & meditation and inspired them so that, everyone remains mentally and physically healthy and can make their valuable contribution in the upliftment of the country.

Port Blair, June 21: The Idea & Innovation Competition for all Units/ Ships of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) was conducted on 19 Jun 2024 at Dweepika Auditorium. The main driving concept for ‘Idea and Innovation’ is to find an original and feasible Idea to address an Issue / Challenge. The event witnessed active participation by all the four Components of ANC. A large number of operational & Logistics Ideas & Innovation were displayed, which were conceptualized by the officers and men of the Command. The display was reviewed by Air Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command (CINCAN).

Port Blair, June 21: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) staged a protest on the 21st of June 2024 against the irregularities and malpractices held in the NEET-UG Examination 2024 results. The protest was organized to address the severe compromise of the examination process's integrity and to demand justice for the affected students.

Led by ANTCC President Shri Rangalal Halder, the protest took place in front of the Congress Office, Port Blair where party leaders vocally opposed the alleged irregularities and paper leaks that have marred the examination.

Sindhu Pillai A, IPS, ceremoniously flagged off the Anti-Drugs Bus from Police Headquarters, Port Blair, in the run-up to the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This initiative highlights the steadfast commitment of Andaman & Nicobar Police to address the pressing issue of drug abuse and foster a well-informed community.

Car Nicobar, June 21: On the occasion of 10th International Day of Yoga-2024, Mass Yoga Demonstrations were held at Block level and District level at various venues in Nicobar District. The yoga demonstrations were held at Priyadharshini Hall, BJR Stadium, Malacca Jetty, Teetop Beach, Indira Park, Kamrota, Nancowry and Community Hall, Campbell Bay including all the Health Facilities at Nicobar District in coordination with all Departments of Nicobar District. A total of 915 people participated in Yoga demonstrations in Nicobar District, a press release from District Health Society, Car Nicobar said.
