Port Blair, May 31: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder has issued a request to the Chief Engineer, APWD for the immediate repair and maintenance of the road between the Lambaline Water Treatment Plant to Dairy Farm Junction.

In his letter, Halder highlighted the dire state of the road, which has been severely compromised due to the installation of pipelines from the Lambaline Water Treatment Plant to Dairy Farm Junction.

Port Blair, May 31: In accordance with an Order issued under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) by the District Magistrate of South Andaman District, it is mandated that all landlords, owners, tenants, and managers of residential and commercial establishments must submit the particulars of any tenants/paying guests/ servants or househelps employed at their premises to the local Police Station.

Port Blair, May 31: In a bid to promote sustainable development and accelerate the adoption of renewable energy solutions in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a comprehensive two-day training program on renewable energy for the Officers of Electricity Department was conducted successfully in Port Blair. The training program was organized under United States Agency for International Development (USAID) South Asia Regional Energy Partnership (SAREP) program in collaboration with the Electricity Department, A&N Administration. The workshop brought together more than 30 Officers of Electricity Department.

Port Blair, May 31: Along with rest of the World, every year, 31st May is observed as World No Tobacco Day throughout the Islands. As part of the observance, an awareness programme was conducted in all the Health and Wellness Centres across A & N Islands. In the State level programme, an awareness programme was conducted at Police Training School, Prothrapur for Police personnel, newly recruited trainees by National Tobacco Control Programme, State Health Society and Directorate of Health Services on the theme ‘Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference’ in coordination with Police Training School, Prothrapur and A&N Police.
