Port Blair, April 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to construct a new Dharamshala in place of the current one with necessary amenities for the residents of North & Middle Andaman and Nicobar District.

Highlighting the current state of the Dharamshala near the Swimming Pool of Netaji Stadium in Port Blair City, the Member of Parliament today wrote a letter to the Lt. Governor wherein he mentioned that the Dharamshala was built several decades ago to provide affordable accommodation for people of the inter-island who need to visit Port Blair for various works related to health, official works, education, and transit during mainland visits.

Port Blair, April 5: About a lakh of workers, peasants and agricultural workers from different parts of the country crowded the Ramlila Grounds in Delhi today to participate in the Mazdoor-Kisan Sangharsh Rally called by Centre of Indian Trade Unions, All India Kisan Sabha and All India Agriculture Workers Union. The Rally was organized to voice their demand for an end to the ongoing assault on their means of livelihood and for policies that allow access to education, healthcare and a dignified life for them and their children. The united action of the workers and peasants expressed determined protest against the hatred and anger against the BJP government in destroying the wealth of the nation and to distract attention from the grave economic crisis engulfing the lives of the working people.

Port Blair, April 5: It has been observed that several instances have come to the notice wherein permit holders are not plying their auto rickshaws instead they are hiring drivers to ply their auto rickshaws which is a violation under section 66/192 (A) Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act, 2019. Apart from challan, the challan will be forwarded to RTO for suspension/cancellation of permit. This rule is enforced against those Auto rickshaw owners, on whose permit the above mentioned clause is stated.
