Diglipur, Sept. 25: A Community Interaction Programme for fishing community of Smith Island was conducted by Diglipur based Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters on 25 September 2022. During the session the fishermen were educated on the safety aspects while operating at sea, importance of adhering to weather warnings, use of Coast Guard toll free helpline No 1554 for seeking assistance for 'search and rescue' at sea.

Port Blair, Sept. 25: Six positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 12 flights with 1889 passengers arrived, out of which, 1677 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 188 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

A truck got stuck on the muddy road of NH4 today at Lorojig. The situation was such that the commuters were forced to wait for nearly four hours till a JCB reached the spot at 3:30 pm and pulled it out.

Port Blair, Sept. 23: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today met the Secretary of Transport Department and highlighted the crucial issue of shortage of buses in Diglipur region for which general public, especially school children are suffering heavily.

Highlighting the problem of Diglipur region, the Member of Parliament said that due to shortage of STS Buses, school going children, especially girl students, are facing huge inconvenience on a daily basis, due to overcrowding and getting no seat inside the bus.

Port Blair, Sept. 23: The Department of Agriculture in association with Department of Tourism will be celebrating Andaman Coconut Festival 2022 on 25th September, 2022 at Corbyn’s Cove beach. As part of celebration, various events like coconut based recipe competition, coconut dehusking and display of coconut products for Exhibition-cum-Sale will be organized to encourage the entrepreneurship among local youth.
