To ensure that bootleggers, illicit liquor sellers and drug peddlers do not indulge in any illegal activity, a close vigil has been kept over the offenders and multiple raids have been conducted in various parts of this District.

Port Blair, April 8: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to order construction of a dam or major water catchment area in Kamorta Island to address the water crisis in the area..
The Member of Parliament also requested to construct a check dam at Munak village for storing naturally flowing water for the use of the villagers and CC drain so that excess water can reach upto the sea.

With this endeavour, the Department intends to make schools an attraction for tourists visiting the Islands. Eleven Schools will be selected for School Tourism where children from other schools will come for picnics and tourist facilities will be made around the school campus and will be touted as the best & beautiful schools of A&N Islands.
