Port Blair, Sept. 19: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,97,704 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries so far in A&N Islands. 6,21,479 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above. Similarly, 47,618 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28,627 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,87,428.    

Port Blair, Sept 19: No positive case has been detected today in A&N Islands, 11 flights with 1786 passengers arrived today, out of which, 1673 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 86 passengers and the reports are awaited.  

Port Blair, Sept. 17: The Andaman & Nicobar Islands has been declared the ‘1st Swachh Sujal Pradesh’ in the entire country by the Hon’ble Jal Shakti Minister, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat during a felicitation programme held at DBRAIT Auditorium this evening. Presenting the award to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands & Vice Chairman, Islands Development Agency, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Minister congratulated the Lt. Governor, the entire team of A&N Administration, PBMC, PRIs, Political party representatives and the general public of A&N Islands in fulfilling the dream of the Prime Minister in achieving saturation in the implementation of his mission to make India a ‘Swacch Bharat’.

INTER ISLAND SECTOR:

MV Campbell Bay will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 22.09.2022 (Thu) at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 24.09.2022 (Sat) at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry.

Passenger Tickets for onward journey will be issued on 22.09.2022 at Haddo Wharf two hours prior to the departure time of the vessel based on the list provided by Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Port Blair and also after due verification of COVID Test Certificate and Islander Card/Local Certificate/Tribal Pass etc.

Environment Ministry’s Panel Shows Green Flag for Project Worth Rs. 72,622 Crores

Port Blair, Sept. 17: The prestigious project of holistic development of Great Nicobar Island (GNI) will transform the Island into a hub of port led development. The GNI project has been conceived based on the principles of Sustainable Development wherein the ecological, economic and social factors have been given due consideration at every stage. Considering the national importance of the project in view of the security, socio economic benefit and strategic location of transhipment terminal, the Govt. of India has conceived the project at an estimated cost of Rs. 72,622 crores after careful consideration of environmental status of Great Nicobar Island.
