Port Blair, June 28: All the eligible PDS beneficiaries of the UT of A&N Islands have been informed that the PDS food grains for Ration Card holders shall be distributed in advance for 2 months for July, 2024 & August, 2024 in one go in the entire UT in the month of July, 2024. All the Ration Card holders have been informed that they can lift the food grains as per their entitlement for 2 months in one go between 1st July, 2024 to 31st August, 2024. Those Ration Card holders who are not able to lift the ration items in the month of July, 2024 can also lift their food grains in the month of August, 2024.

Port Blair, June 27: Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency on his visit to New Delhi called on Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji and congratulated him for his historic 3rd consecutive term as Prime Minister of India. Hon’ble Lt. Governor briefed him about the various developmental mega projects of Andaman and Nicobar Islands nearing implementation phase viz. International Container Transhipment Terminal, Great Nicobar Islands Projects, Green Field Airport, Development of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep as National Memorial, Deep Water Port at Atlanta Bay, Infrastructure at Ranilakshmi Bai Shila and other Tourism, Hospitality Projects.

Baratang, June 27: On 24/06/2024, Shri Krishna Baghwar, Private Driver, R/o South Creek, Baratang, lodged a missing report at PS Baratang regarding his old aged mother who is mentally unstable. He reported that she had left their house on 23/06/2024 in morning hours and had not returned. Despite his exhaustive efforts to locate her, she remained missing.
Upon receiving the complaint, a missing report was promptly registered, and a missing signal was flashed. A dedicated Police team from PS Baratang immediately initiated a jungle search operation, enlisting the assistance of staff from the Forest and APWD Departments, as well as local villagers.

Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency on his visit to New Delhi called on Hon'ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah ji and congratulated him on taking oath as Hon'ble Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation for second consecutive term. Hon’ble Lt. Governor discussed about developmental Mega Projects at Andaman and Nicobar Islands initiated through Islands Development Agency including Little Andaman and management of human crocodile conflict. Apprised him on the status of ongoing transformational, infrastructure, hospitality and tourism projects being implemented by Andaman and Nicobar Administration and recommended subsequent phases to be taken up.
