Port Blair, Aug 10: Communist Party of India (Marxist), Andaman and Nicobar State Organising Committee has organized a Seminar on “Role of Communists in Freedom Struggle” today (10.08.2022) evening at Shaheed Bhavan, Anarkali, Port Blair. Inaugurating the Seminar, Shri KG Das, former Secretary of the CPI (M) State Organising Committee said that Communists and other revolutionaries in the country had played an important role in the freedom struggle of the country.  

Port Blair, Aug 10: In continuation to zero tolerance policy against any kind of crime, PS Aberdeen staff have once again cracked a burglary case within few hours and arrested two accused persons and recovered the stolen articles.

A burglary case was reported at PS Aberdeen that on the intervening night of 06-07/08/2022, two unknown persons had entered the godown of APT Logistics Pvt. Ltd, Sisty Nagar by breaking the lock and stolen various valuable items like mobile phones, watches, etc. worth Rs. 2,80,000 (approx.). The unknown offenders had covered their faces with masks to hide their identity. Upon this, a FIR vide No. 122/2022 dated 08/08/2022 was registered at P.S. Aberdeen and investigation was entrusted to SI M.J Indrajit.

Port Blair, Aug 10: As part of ongoing ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav a AKAM Photo Booth was inaugurated by Shri K Balakrishna, Pradhan Shore at Shore Point junction on 10/08/2022 at 0815 am. In the simple function organised on the occasion, Shri Debkumar Bhadra, President SPARSHA briefed the gathering about the background of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. SPARSHA (Society for Promotion of Serve Humanity Among Youths), a newly registered NGO based in South Andaman sponsored the AKAM Photo booth.

Mayabunder, Aug 10: The district police of North & Middle Andaman has been conducting regular raids to crackdown on sale of illicit ganja, illicit liquor, Handia and IMFL. In the month of July, the teams of various police stations, headed by SHOs and sub-inspectors conducted jungle searches to destroy illicit liquor/lehan and Regular raids at illegal sale of IMFL, Handia. The strict vigil over the history sheeters and known bootleggers has also been intensified which making it hard for them to be involved in any illegal activity.
