Port Blair, Jan 19: A Road Rally on the theme of “Road Safety” was organised today from PS Car Nicobar to Jayanthi junction as part of Raising Week Celebration. The students of Class XI to Class XII from GSSS Lapathy participated along with banners and placards to give the message of ‘Safe Drive’ and ‘Obey the traffic rules’ to the general public.

Port Blair, Jan 19: As part of the Police Raising Week celebrations, police personnel of Kadamtala and Diglipur organised a cleanliness drive in their areas. Around 40 police personnel participated in the activity. While in Diglipur, Kalipur beach was cleaned of plastics, in Kadamtala, the area of PHC and around was taken up for cleaning. In addition to that, an awareness programme on Road Safety and Traffic Rules was organised for auto and jeep drivers in Rangat.

Port Blair, Jan 18: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to make the dialysis units at CHC Rangat and CHC Diglipur operational at the earliest. This is to safeguard the health of dialysis patients of Rangat and  Diglipur Tehsil, since the number of dialysis patients here is very high.

Role of Police, Parents, Teachers, NGOs, Social Welfare etc. Cannot be Ignored

Port Blair, Jan 18: As part of Police Raising Week from 16th to 23rd January 2021, South Andaman District Police organized a Panel discussion at JNRM Auditorium, Port Blair on 18/01/2021 at 1100 hrs, on the topic “Prevention of Drug Abuse”. The panel discussion was chaired by Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

India ranks first in the number of road accident deaths across the 199 countries and accounts for almost 11% of the accident related deaths in the World.
